It has been years since I’ve been sailing, but doing this painting made me want to…very much. The mix of blues and the clouds makes me wish that I could be there, right now.
We have some friends who live just across the road from this property, which I think is some of the prettiest land in Chautauqua County. The piece of shale that I used came from these friends property, so this painting seemed like just the right one for it.
This is the Chautauqua Bell Tower, which is in the Chautauqua Institution. The piece of shale that I used, just seemed like it had been created just for me to paint this scene on.
This is the McClurg Mansion, a historical museum in our town. They have quite a bit of Civil War relics on display as well as other things of that era. This, as so many other things that I paint, is across the street from my house. 
I adore this scene. A friend took the picture and I love it. It’s not too far outside my town, a scene that makes me smile…like so many other scenes I paint.

I found a picture kind of randomly, while looking for something else and I just had to paint it. It is a scene that absolutely captivated me.
I love this scene! My husband took this picture while fishing and as soon as I saw it, I had to paint it. I tried to paint this scene on canvas, but it just didn’t work. The shale is what made the scene.
This is part of Chautauqua Gorge. It is to the west of Westfield, just outside the town of Sherman. I just love the scene.
